ISLAMABAD: Asif Ali Zardari was elected today as the President of Pakistan for the second time, after previously holding this position between 2008 and 2013.

Asif Zardari, the widower of the late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, received 411 votes of support compared to 181 votes received by the opposition candidate during the voting of the electoral college, which includes members of both houses of parliament and the four provincial assemblies.
