RAMALLAH: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information, Nabil Abu Rudeina, said today that the Palestinian people are subjected to an unprecedented war of genocide and massacres, targeting the entire Palestinian presence, in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Abu Rudeina made the remarks during a speech at the meeting of the Executive Council of Arab Information Ministers held in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

During his speech, Abu Rudeina called for a serious Arab and international stance to stop this aggression.

He affirmed that the priority now for President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership is to immediately stop the massacres against the Palestinian people, and to bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip urgently.

Abu Rudeina stressed that Israel and those who support it in carrying out the aggression bear responsibility for these crimes.

The comprehensive Israeli war against the Palestinian people, with American support, has caused the deaths of thousands of civilians wit
h hundreds of massacres that amount to war crimes, he said.

The deputy prime minister affirmed that Israel is trying to displace the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing that the Palestinian leadership will not allow the Nakba of 1948 to be repeated.

Abu Rudeina pointed out that, in addition to the aggression against the Gaza Strip, the occupation forces continue their aggression against the West Bank, including Jerusalem, which is subject to numerous attempts to erase its Arab and Islamic identity.

He stressed that Jerusalem is a red line, and the Palestinian people will continue to struggle for Jerusalem and to achieve peace and justice, noting that no one will enjoy security without achieving security and peace for the Palestinian people.

Abu Rudeina added that thx Palestinian people will not give up their legitimate rights, and will preserve Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Palestinian state.

He stressed the necessity of an Arab trend supporting the Palestinian efforts to pu
t pressure on the U.S. administration to force the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their aggression and war against the Palestinian people.

Abu Rudeina said that what is required is to “turn the words we hear from the U.S. administration into actions, because it is the only one capable of binding Israel”, noting that the Arab and Islamic Ministerial Committee had a positive impact on international action to support the Palestinian cause.

He pointed out that the occupation government continues to seize Palestinian clearance funds, and this measure is piracy and collective punishment for the entire Palestinian people, adding that Palestine will not abandon its people, whether martyrs or prisoners, and will not abandon Gaza, which is an integral part of the Palestinian state.

Abu Rudeina added that Jerusalem and displacement are red lines, as well as the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, affirming that it is the protector of the national pr
oject and the preserver of Palestinian rights.

He urged the Arab Ministers of Information for the implementation of a joint Palestinian-Arab media movement to influence Western public opinion and support Palestinian rights, most notably obtaining full membership in the United Nations and recognizing the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also stressed the role of media in exposing the crimes of the occupation and genocide committed against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Abu Rudeina highlighted the importance of the media in exposing the U.S. administration’s biased policy towards the occupation to Western public opinion.

He as well stressed the need to develop a unified media plan to highlight the centrality of the Palestinian issue, expose the false Israeli narrative supported by America, and focus on the Palestinian narrative.
