DERIAN MEETS US AMBASSADOR, AFFIRMS KEENNESS ON FRATERNAL RELATIONS WITH ARAB COUNTRIES

– Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, on Friday welcomed at Dar Al-Fatwa US Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea, for approximately an hour.

During the meeting, Mufti Derian stressed his keenness on stability, security, and national unity in Lebanon, as well as on preserving brotherly relations with Arab countries, especially with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Derian stressed the paramount importance of strengthening cooperation with the GCC “for the benefit of the Lebanese people and institutions.”
