Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki on Sunday discussed in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Jomaa Enad Saadoun means of fostering military cooperation and sharing experience between the two countries’ armed forces.

The Iraqi defense minister is currently on a several-day visit to Egypt.

During the meeting, Zaki said the General Command of the Armed Forces is keen on enhancing cooperation and partnership with Iraq in various military fields.

On his part, the Iraqi defense minister lauded Egypt’s effective role at the regional and international levels, as well as its efforts to bring about security and stability in the Middle East.

The meeting was attended by a number of the Egyptian and Iraqi Armed Forces’ top brass, as well as the Iraqi ambassador in Cairo and the military attaché.
