ABU DHABI, The Emirates Post Group (EPG), in coordination with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), has launched the 52nd International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People, encouraging children and young talent aged between nine and fifteen years to express their creativity and writing skills. The competition, which runs from 23rd February to 21st April 2023, invites young writers from across the UAE to participate.

t the launch event, EPG honoured the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) members for their support in the 51st International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People 2022. The ESE’s contributions to widening the competition’s reach to a broad category of students nationwide and its role in arbitration of the competition’s letter submissions were highlighted.

The competition’s aim is to encourage youth to use letter writing to express their ideas and opinions on various subjects. This year, the theme is “Imagine you are a superhero, and your mission is to make all roads around the world safer for children. Write a letter to someone explaining which superpowers you need to achieve your mission.” The participants must submit a letter in either Arabic or English to the dedicated email address ;uepcompetition@epg.ae.

bdulla Mohammed Alashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, expressed his appreciation for the ESE’s support and encouraged students from across the UAE to participate in the competition, emphasising the importance of focusing on road safety.

Winners will be chosen based on specific criteria listed on the website and will receive monetary rewards and a certificate of recognition. The first-place winner will receive AED3,000, second-place AED2,000, and third-place winner AED1,000. One of the letters will also represent the UAE in the international round of the competition at the UPU.
