BRUSSELS: European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell has raised alarms about the escalating humanitarian crisis in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, citing increased attacks on civilians, widespread infrastructure damage, and rising settler violence. Specifically, Borrell highlighted the severe conditions in the Jabalia refugee camp, which he described as particularly dire.

According to Jordan News Agency, Borrell emphasized the urgent need for EU member states to revisit their approach to the refugee situation. He outlined potential measures including the imposition of sanctions on violent Israeli settlers and two Israeli government ministers, aiming to quell the ongoing unrest and provide relief to affected populations.

The situation in the West Bank and Gaza continues to deteriorate amid these complex geopolitical tensions, with Borrell’s statements underscoring the critical need for immediate and decisive action from the international community to address the humanitarian needs and restor
e stability to the region.
