Health and Population Minister Hala Zayed said on Friday the quality of medical services offered to citizens at hospitals is the main indicator of the success of the professional medical training mechanism.
The minister gave the remarks during a visit to Princess Fatma Academy where she followed up training programs of Egyptian fellowship doctors.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said the minister reviewed a detailed report on the program that includes an updated database for distributing fellowship trainees in hospitals according to specified criteria, evaluation and follow-up indicators for the training process in addition to necessary preparations for non-accredited hospitals to expedite their accreditation within the Egyptian fellowship program.
Megahed added the minister directed introducing kidney, liver and marrow transplant specialties in the Egyptian fellowship program to meet the needs of patients in these critical specialties.
She also underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Egyptian fellowship and the Egyptian Center for Disease Control in the field of scientific researches related to public health diseases.
