Hasaka Governor, WFP delegation discuss cooperation

Hasaka, SANA- Hasaka Governor Louai Sayouh discussed Monday with Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Syria, Kenneth Crossley and the accompanying delegation boosting joint cooperation in bakeries, agriculture, electricity and food aid aspects.

The governor affirmed the importance of upgrading the standing cooperation with WFP through increasing agriculture projects, supporting the bakery sector by increasing production lines, securing yeast, maintaining bakery of Meridian neighborhood, in addition to securing spare parts supply to the Swedish electricity generation facility to continue its operation.


He pointed out the need to increase the province’s share of food baskets as a result of the difficult living conditions and the high costs in light of the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people.

Crossley said that 50 tons of yeast will be secured during the coming period and quantities of flour for bakeries, as well as providing the needs of some service directorates according to what is available.
