AMMAN: In a telephone call with the Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres, the King of Jordan Abdullah II stressed that UNRWA must be supported to enable it to provide relief aid to 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.

The king urged in a call with the UN chief to maintain international support for UNRWA. ‘UNRWA must be supported to enable it to provide relief aid to 2 million Palestinians in Gaza.’

According to the Petra news agency, the king reaffirmed the need to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The king also stressed the need to enable Gazans to return to their homes, said Petra.

He further warned of the ongoing extremist colonists’ violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
