The Iraqi government said Monday that Baghdad has plans to revive the oil export line through the Syrian port of Baniyas. Basem Awadi, the spokesman for the Iraqi government, said Baghdad is looking for new outlets to export Iraqi oil through Syria by reviving the Iraq oil pipeline to the Mediterranean. Awadi added that the Iraqi government is waiting for an “improvement in the conditions of Syria,” adding that the oil pipeline would provide Iraq with new opportunities to export its oil to the Mediterranean Sea and importing countries.
