The Kingdom remains in the grip of a scorching heatwave, with temperatures staying hot in most regions, and reaching extremely hot levels in the Badia desert, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the Red Sea port of Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department said in its forecast for Sunday and Monday.
In its daily report, the weather service issued alerts about the risk of direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours, highlighting the dangers of leaving children in closed cars and storing flammable materials as well as sanitizers and perfumes inside vehicles.
The weather in Jordan is expected to see a slight relief on Tuesday as the sizzling air mass recedes, leading to a slight drop in temperatures. However, the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will continue to experience hot weather, while mountainous areas and plains will see relatively hot temperatures.
Today’s peak temperatures will be between 38 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 23 or even 19 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 44C and lows of 30C.
