The latest depression brought downpours that channeled some 4.2 million cubic meters (mcm) into dams across Jordan, said the Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Tuesday. In a statement, the ministry said precipitation increased to 91.6 percent of Jordan’s long-term annual average of 8.1 billion cubic meters, constituting 115.2 of total downpours registered in the previous rain season. In the last 24 hours, about 2mcm were poured into dams, raising their storage to 119.5mcm, or 42.5 percent of their total capacity of 280.7 mcm.
