Mikdad receives a copy of credentials of Palestine Ambassador in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad, received on Tuesday a copy of credentials of the new Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Syria, Samir Al-Rifae.

Mikdad welcomed the decision of appointing Al-Rifae to succeed the late Ambassador, Mahmoud al-Khalidi who devoted his life-long career in service of the Palestinian cause and Syrian-Palestinian relations, wishing him success in his upcoming duties in the interest of the Syrian and Palestinian issues.

He affirmed that relations between the Syrian and Palestinian brothers are relations of destiny, present and future, and that Palestine is in the heart of every free and honorable Syrian and Arab citizen.

“There is no difference between the two countries despite all the Western and Zionist attempts and plots to separate them,” Mikdad said, pointing out that the Syrians and the Palestinians are united by a common history and destiny.

Al-Rifae, for his part, said that Syria is the real supporter of the Palestinian cause, and it has paid a precious price for this stance.
