Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired Sunday a regular meeting to follow up on the position of implementing the Advance Cargo Information System (ACI).

The meeting was attended by Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Hassan Abdullah, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait, and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, among other senior officials.

The meeting aimed to ensure the implementation of various steps that would contribute to providing more facilities for releasing goods and commodities at the Egyptian ports, the premier said.

The attendees studied the status of products at ports around the country from October 2021 to March 2023, as well as an examination of commodities registered on the ACI system, which totaled $3.9 billion so far, while total goods cleared during that time were $106.5 billion.

The total value of items cleared under the final import system from 1 to 28 February, 2023, was $5.8 billion, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad revealed.

The value of goods released under the same system from March 1 to 10 amounted to $2 billion, he added.
