Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday visited Ministries of Interior and Investment, to ensure that best services are properly provided to citizens and investors. This visit is part of the Prime Minister’s series of tours and inspection visits to government institutions. During his visit to the Interior Ministry, Khasawneh met with a group of governors in a meeting attended by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Jazi, Interior Minister, Mazen Faraya, Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah, and Director General of the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD), Fahd Al-Amoush. Khasawneh conveyed greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, to governors, administrative rulers and Interior Ministry personnel, lauding their leading role in all areas of the ministry’s work. He also commended their role in the past period, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and their effective response to it. In this regard, he referred to the successful response to emergencies and crises, such as the falling chlorine gas tank in Aqaba, and challenges in the north and north-east regions of the Kingdom, where attempts to smuggle drugs and weapons and other challenges are on the rise. “Such daily issues may not be noticed by citizens, but they require great effort and high-level coordination from governors, administrative rulers, law enforcement agencies, security apparatus, and the armed forces in defending the nation and the foundations, basic values, and the system of social values that are affected by these challenges,” the Prime Minister said. The Prime Minister commended the Interior Ministry’s achievements in the past years, as it was able to operate out of the traditional security framework to contribute to the completion of issues related to facilitating investors and protecting investments, implementing development plans, promoting medical tourism, and positive engagement with the private sector as a partner in the development process, not an opponent, through the development of its electronic services and facilitation for investors and those coming to the Kingdom.
