Vatican, SANA- Pope Francis of the Vatican expressed his deep sorrow over the earthquake that hit Syria on Monday dawn and caused huge losses in lives and property.

The Vatican News Agency quoted the Secretary of State of the Apostolic See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin as saying, “The Pope offered his condolences to the Syrian people,” stressing that he stands by all those affected.”

Parolin added that the Pope renewed his spiritual solidarity with the long-suffering Syrian people.
