President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides expressed deep shock over the train collision that took place in Greece.

In a written statement the President expressed his profound grief over the loss of dozens of lives.

“I express my sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the Greek people and the Government of the country”, the President said.

The two trains collided near the town of Tempe, close to the city of Larissa in Greece midnight, resulting in the deaths of at least 39 people and injuries to over 85 others.
