GAZA: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society warned today about the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the northern Gaza Strip due to the continued Israeli aggression and strict blockade, blocking the delivery of desperately needed humanitarian aid.
In a press statement, the Red Crescent highlighted the plight of approximately 800,000 citizens grappling with food insecurity, a scarcity of clean water, widespread infrastructure destruction, and a significant shortage of basic necessities. This includes bread, vegetables, infant formula, medications, and sanitary pads, exacerbating the already challenging circumstances faced by the population.
The statement emphasized that citizens have resorted to grinding legumes in an attempt to make bread due to the lack of flour. With the onset of winter, the severe cold, coupled with a shortage of heating resources, blankets, and proper nutrition, poses additional hardships, especially after the substantial damage inflicted on homes and the shattering of windows.

he Red Crescent urgently appealed to the international community and international humanitarian organizations to intervene by exerting pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities. It urged the opening of a secure humanitarian corridor to ensure the delivery of aid to the northern Gaza Strip, including medical supplies, fuel, relief aid, and the revitalization of the healthcare system in Gaza City and the Northern Gaza province.
The society stressed that Israel’s ongoing denial of fuel entry to northern Gaza threatens the operation of remaining ambulance vehicles, power generators in hospitals, and water and sanitation facilities. Moreover, the unsafe conditions in these areas hinder the movement of ambulances and relief teams, impeding the provision of vital humanitarian services.
The Red Crescent Society emphasized the urgent need for allowing the evacuation of critically injured individuals and cancer patients from northern Gaza to receive treatment abroad.
