Amman, Royal Jordanian (RJ) on Thursday resumed its regular and direct air service to Algerian capital, with two flights per week to Algiers Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG).

In a statement, RJ said it will operate two flights per week between Amman and Algiers on board Airbus A320 aircraft, on Mondays and Thursdays weekly.

Travelers in Algeria could book their flights by contacting call center 065100000, RJ website www.rj.com, its sales offices, or its authorized travel agencies, the statement added.

Commenting on the step, RJ CEO, Samer Majali, said the new destination would serve Jordanian and Arab community residing in Algeria, as well as Algerians, students and businesspeople and enhance trade exchange.

Majali also expressed optimism that Algeria would constitute an added-value destination to the national carrier, by linking it with the Near East, which would meet traveler requirements and desires and support joint efforts to increase number of the two countries’ tourists by providing “distinguished” services and travel experience with RJ.

RJ said resumption of Algeria route comes in light of its commercial strategy aimed to expand its flight network, increase and open “promising” markets that are appropriate to nature of the carrier’s network and its air fleet, after affirming economic feasibility, the statement said.

Announcement to operate flights came during the ministerial meetings of Algerian-Jordanian Joint Committee in Algeria, in presence of Majali, held to resume regular flights to Algeria.
