Amman: In response to activities against a Russian person and an employee of the Russian embassy, Russia has declared that a number of Cypriot officials will not be permitted to enter its territory.

The operations are a reprisal for what Russia considers to be “unacceptable actions” taken by the Cypriot government in October 2023. The event concerned the expulsion of a Russian journalist who was residing in Cyprus, Alexander Gasyuk.
