Shoukry: Egypt pays attention to bolstering security, stability in DRC

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Tuesday 4/10/2022 Egypt pays attention to fostering security and stability in the Democratic republic of Congo (DRC).

Shoukry’s remarks came during his meeting with his Congolese counterpart Christophe Lutundula on the sidelines of the preparatory ministerial meeting for COP27 in Kinshasa, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zied said.

Egypt will spare no effort to offer all forms of support to consolidate stability in DR Congo, Shoukry noted.

The top diplomat pointed to the impact of operating the first direct airline between Cairo and Kinshasa in March in boosting economic cooperation.

The two ministers discussed developments of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)’s negotiations, asserting Egypt’s firm stance toward this file.
