SIS: 640 foreign correspondents attended 24 openings of national projects in 4 months

The State Information Service (SIS) highlighted the international media’s keenness to follow up major projects carried out in Egypt and the achievements made in the country in various fields.

In a report released on Tuesday 1/2/2022, the SIS pointed out to the international news agencies, newspapers and websites’ coverage of projects and initiatives witnessed in Egypt over the past few months, especially those attended by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Head of the State Information Service Diaa Rashwan said the participation of representatives and correspondents of foreign media outlets accredited in Egypt as well as domestic media in the opening of projects has been organized in a way that enables them to attend the inauguration and launch of national projects and facilitate procedures for them to broadcast what is happening to the world public opinion.

The move comes in accordance with presidential directives as regards briefing internal and external public opinion on developments and achievements throughout Egypt, he added.

Rashwan noted that 640 correspondents – accredited by Egypt – from the most prominent international media have taken part in about 24 official occasions and celebrations for the launch and inauguration of projects since relevant presidential directives were issued in August 2021 until the end of the year.

The SIS detected that the ceremony to revive the ancient Avenue of Sphinxes (Kebash Road), the inauguration of the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2021), and the launch of the National Strategy for Human Rights have been most significantly covered by the foreign press, he said.
