SHARJAH: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), witnessed on Monday morning, at the Medical and Health Sciences Complex, the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Sharjah and the University of Lbeck in Germany, which includes research coordination in applying artificial intelligence in the fields of science and technology in general, and medicine and health in particular.

Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Professor Gabriele Gillessen-Kaesbach, President of the University of Lbeck, signed the agreement.

The MoU stipulates scientific coordination between the two Universities to conduct research initiatives that include providing scholarships to a work team that includes key researchers from the two universities who will cooperate to produce innovative and modern research regarding the use of artificial intelligence in various fields.

The agreement inc
ludes sponsoring, financing, and working on publishable projects that lead to achieving patents and commercial products. The two universities will form a team representing the scientific committee that will set the conditions and specifications for future collaborative research projects in the areas stipulated in the agreement.
