Baghdad, The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Abdul Rahman Al-Assoumi, praised the role of the Iraqi judiciary, expressing his support for the judiciary’s efforts to impose the rule of law.

The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement: “The President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zaidan, met today with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Abdel Rahman Al-Assoumi, his deputy, Sheikh Shaalan Al-Karim, and MPs, Hanan Al-Fatlawi and Nazem Al-Shibli, and the Secretary-General, Counselor Kamel Shaarawi.”

Al-Assoumi praised, according to the statement, “the role of the Iraqi judiciary, which gave a positive image of the judiciary in the Arab countries,” expressing “the Arab Parliament’s support for the judiciary’s efforts to impose the rule of law and strengthen the principle of the independence of the judiciary.”
