The West, Turkish regime hinder solution to crisis in Syria, Bekmatov says

Head of the Slovak Socialist Party, Artur Bekmatov, has stressed that the West, led by the US along with the Turkish regime, are obstructing the solution to the crisis in Syria and the reconstruction of what had been destroyed by the war.

“Had it not been for the Western support for terrorist and extremist organizations in Syria, and had it not been the interventions of the United States and its allies, the crisis in Syria would have ended a long time ago,” Bekmatov said in a statement on Wednesday.

He slammed the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the West on Syria at a time when the United States along with the Turkish regime are occupying a part of the Syrian territory in flagrant violation of international law.

Bekmatov considered that what is taking place in Syria now strongly reflects the extent of the West’s disregard for international law.

He noted that the West reaped from its intervention in Syria the exact opposite of what it wanted thanks to the resilience of its people and their resistance to all external interventions.
