Tomb of treasury chief in the era of Ramsis II unearthed in Saqqara area

The tomb of the treasury chief in the era of King Ramsis II was unearthed in Saqqara area by a mission of the Faculty of Antiquities of Cairo University under Professor Ola Ogeizi.

 

Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Moustafa Waziri said the site of archaeological excavation includes tombs of key state figures of the 19th dynasty and some of the 18th dynasty.

 

The new discovery is part of important discoveries made by the Cairo University, Cairo University President Mohamed Othman el Khesht said, noting that this underscores the university’s interest in field work as well as scientific and research work.

 

He added that the university spares no effort to support the mission, expressing happiness for cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
