Türkiye’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul was in negative territory at the weekly close, falling 0.59% to 5,031.98 points on Friday.

Starting the day at 5.078,56 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 30.01 points compared to Thursday’s close.

The benchmark index posted a decrease of 2.03% this week.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 5,000.23, while its daily high was 5,117.37.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.1 trillion Turkish liras ($215.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 52 billion liras ($2.7 billion).

During the day, 45 stocks on the index rose and 53 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,995.10, while Brent crude oil sold at around $74.19 per barrel as of 6.24 p.m. local time (1524GMT).
