ِAmbassador Darwish: Syria continued its cultural message despite war

Cairo, SANA- With participation of Syria, the 8th edition of Zayed Book Fair kicked off in the Egyptian city of Sheikh Zayed on Wednesday under the slogan “Culture is Life.”


During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Bassam Darwish, Chairman of Syrian diplomatic mission to Egypt, said, “Syria, during the fair, presents various cultural and artistic activities”.

Darwish added that Syria continued its duties and cultural message despite the unjust global war waged against it, referring to its important participation in Cairo International Book Fair.

For his part, Eng. Ahmed Mustafa, Chairman of the Boards of  of Sheikh Zayed City, said that Syria has an international presence in many fields, and the exhibition is honoured to host it.

The exhibition is being held from October 12th to 24th with the participation of 85 publishing houses and organised by Zayed Foundation for Creativity and Development.
