Aleppo, The ministerial committee tasked with following up the projects of the reconstruction and building in Aleppo on Tuesday inspected the works of rehabilitating al-Saqtyia Souq (market)and the archeological school of al-Halwia in the old city and in the neighborhoods of al-Qatirji, al-Mayser and al-Jazmati.
The committee listened to the demands of the locals and it was briefed on the level of the services provided to them.
Head of Aleppo Old City Directorate Ahmad Shihabi told SANA reporter that the maintenance works in al-Saqtyia are about to finish as most of the shops' owners have returned to their shops after rehabilitating them.
Shihabi added that the market embraces about 54 shops and it links the markets of the old city from the east to the west, indicating that the market will be soon opened.
During the meeting, which embraced directors of construction institutions and companies and of service departments, the committee was briefed on the difficulties facing the institutions and the mechanisms of paying debts of the construction companies, in addition to means of alleviating the routine measures which are related to the service projects.
In statement to journalist, Head of the Committee, Minister of Water Resources Eng. Hussein Arnous said that the works of implementing the service and development are ongoing according to certain plans and timetable.
He added that the government works on overcoming the obstacles hindering the work of the construction and service companies.
For his part, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf indicated that the committee inspected a number of the vital projects which are being implemented in Aleppo for which SYP 5 billion were allocated for improving the infrastructure and implementing the organizational chart, particularly in the areas which have been affected by terrorism.
Industry Minister Mohammad Maan Zain al-Abdin Jazbieh said that the number of the craft and industrial facilities which have been put into service again in Aleppo reached up to 16 thousand facilities.
He added that the government is providing all the required support and facilitations for the return of all the facilities in the province to the production stage.
