Ulan Bator, SANA- Syrian national team athlete Shaima Sukkar won the gold medal in the Asian Championship currently held in the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator, with the participation of nine teams.

Sukkar surpassed her competitors after lifting 77.5 kg to win the gold medal.

“The weightlifter Sukkar proved to everyone that the game of physical strength in Syria continue to evolve and the ambition of its male and female players is to reach the universality”, Head of the Physical Strength Union, Ziad Muhammad, told SANA.

Next Sunday, Sukkar will compete in the “Classic Chest” lift, and Ziad Muhammad will participate in the Masters athletics category.
