This tournament began in January and featured over 8,000 participants, including students from more than 200 public, private, and charter schools, as well as universities throughout the emirate. “The Abu Dhabi Schools Sports Cup is part of a wider sports program and as we continue growing the competition by adding different disciplines in line with our strategic goals for building an active school community, we are pleased to see the growth of promising talents,” said Musallam. “Sports competitions provide a unique opportunity for young people to cultivate important values like teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship,” she added. “The Abu Dhabi Schools Sports Cup is an essential part of our efforts to enhance students’ physical fitness as well as the interpersonal and social skills that can positively affect their academic attainment. By fostering a culture of physical activity and healthy competition, we can help future generations develop the skills and habits they need to lead happy, fulfilling lives. We believe that investing in school sports competitions is an investment in the future of our communities.” Passionate sports enthusiasts, from family, friends, and the entire Abu Dhabi community, were in for a professional sport experience. The event kicked off with a dynamic opening ceremony that saw Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Awal School students perform the National Anthem.
