Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (Adnic) announced on Tuesday that children across the UAE can register free for the 2013 Adnic Yas Run.
The entry fee for all children participating in the 1-km (eight to 11-years-old) and 3-km (12 to 15-years old) races, both of which will take place on the world-famous Formula 1 track, will be provided by the title sponsors.
The third annual Adnic Yas Run will take place on November 22.
“The health and wellbeing of the nation is at the heart of the Adnic Yas Run and we are dedicated to ensuring that young people of the UAE have access to this unique event that focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle,” said Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chief Corporate Marketing and Communications Officer at Adnic.
The Adnic Yas Run has added an inter-school competition for the 2013 edition and organisers are encouraging schools from across the country to register for the chance to be named the ‘Fastest School’.
“Over the past two years, we have received an outstanding response from across the UAE, with hundreds of children taking part with their school friends and families. We expect to see many familiar faces returning for 2013, plus many new competitors as the Adnic Yas Run continues to grow into the UAE’s largest community event,” Al Nuaimi said.
In addition to the 1-km and 3-km races, the Adnic Yas Run offers runners of all abilities the chance to follow in the tracks of F1 stars in the 5-km (open to ages eight and above) or 10-km (open to ages 15 and above) categories. Runners can register by visiting www.adnicyasrun.ae.
