Abu Dhabi: Etihad Airways and airberlin are expanding their codeshare agreement this month to include six Indian destinations served by Etihad, according to a statement from the airlines. Passengers travelling from Germany on airberlin’s services into Abu Dhabi will be able to connect onwards with Etihad, from mid-February. to New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Travellers from India will also be able to connect to airberlin’s European destinations.
Later this year, airberlin will double flights between Berlin and Abu Dhabi with a second daily service starting on October 26. The Berlin-Abu Dhabi route has been operated by airberlin since January 2012 and is the only direct flight between the German capital and the UAE. Airberlin also flies from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
