Greek Melkite Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and all the East Yusuf al-Absi, and Greek Orthodox Patriarch John X Yazigi, as well as Syriac Orthodox Patriarch Avram II, met today with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, within the framework of their official visit to Hungary.

The meeting was a chance to discuss the general conditions and relations between the Lebanese and Hungarian peoples, and the problems that Christians in the region suffer from in light of the accumulated wars and crises.

In this context, Al-Absi thanked Hungary for its “constant interest in supporting Christians,” and stressed “the necessity of continuing fruitful cooperation for the good of the Church in these countries that have been suffering for years.”
