Dubai: Dubai’s Al Ahli Club will be the lone Asian representative as the best eight beach soccer clubs from across the globe line up for the third edition of the Mundialito de Clubes at the Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro next month.
The tournament to be held on the famed beaches of Brazil will see Al Ahli contending with some of the top names in beach soccer including SC Corinthians Paulista, CR Flamengo, FC Barcelona, CR Vasco da Gama, AC Milan, CA Penarol and Botafogo FR to decide the best club in the world from November 10-17.
The official draw was held on Monday at the Beach Soccer Worldwide headquarters in Barcelona, Spain and Al Ahli have been put in Group A along with 2010 champions Vasco da Gama, Botafogo and AC Milan. Group B comprises Corinthians, runner-ups Flamengo, FC Barcelona and newcomers Club Atletico Penarol (Montevideo).
The match schedule for the competition will be made known shortly after teams send in their final list of players to the organisers.
