Kirkuk Head of the Turkmen bloc in the Iraqi Parliament, MP Arshad Al-Saehi, refused to prejudice the status of Kirkuk, stressing the importance of keeping its security file federal while it is witnessing security stability.
He said in a statement that all governments failed to find permanent solutions to the Kirkuk file, stressing that the State Administration Coalition signed a set of political agreements in the absence of Turkmen MPs, and the political agreement may turn the “moderate” situation in Kirkuk into a frightening and confusing one.
He said that Kirkuk has enjoyed a safe and stable atmosphere since 2017 with the presence of federal forces, and warned of a political move to return Kirkuk as an unstable region, as there is no need to return “partisan forces” to Kirkuk.
Al-Salehi explained that the return of the Peshmerga to Kirkuk is a constitutional violation, and we may resort to the law.
Al-Salehi pointed out that the terrorist Workers’ Party is present in Sinjar and the outskirts of Kirkuk and began recruiting Yazidi and Arab women. He said, “We have helped the Iranians expel the “People’s Hypocrites” from Iraq. The Labor Party gangs must also be expelled, explaining that the presence of the Workers’ Party confused Sinjar.
He called on the Iraqi government to recruit young Yazidis into the ranks of the Iraqi security services to protect Sinjar locally.
He concluded by saying that the international community had left Iraq alone to fight ISIS. /End
