Dubai: Al Shabab’s slow start in the GCC Champions League continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Bahrain’s Al Muharraq on Wednesday.
The visitors were able to hold on to the three points after Hussain Ali’s half-hour opener.
Al Shabab now find themselves at the bottom of Group B, level on one point with Saudi Arabia’s Al Shoalah, with whom they drew 1-1 away last month.
Elsewhere, Al Nasr beat Bahrain’s Busaiteen 1-0 away on Tuesday to go top of Group C with six points.
Hassan Mohammad’s goal before the hour separated the two sides.
Victory for The Blue Wave follows on from a 5-0 thrashing of Qatar’s Al Khor at home last month.
Al Shabab now entertain Al Shoalah at home on April 1, while Al Nasr next travel to Al Khor the same day.
