Amman: Jordan’s King Discusses Gaza War with EU High Representative Borrell

Amman, November 21: King Abdullah of Jordan met with Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on Monday. During the meeting, King Abdullah emphasized the urgency of halting the war on Gaza, ending the siege, and facilitating the delivery of essentials like food, medicine, water, and fuel to the Strip.

According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty expressed concern over the grave consequences of the ongoing war, highlighting that innocent civilians are the primary victims. He also raised alarm over the continuous escalations and settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank. King Abdullah reiterated that the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict hinges on the two-state solution, crucial for ensuring stability and security for all involved.

High Representative Borrell acknowledged the importance of protecting civilians in Gaza and lauded Jordan’s significant role, under King Abdullah’s leadership, in seeking a political resolution for the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution. Jafar Hassan, Director of the Office of His Majesty, was also present at the meeting.
