Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Lt. General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras held talks on Saturday with a high-level Brazilian delegation led by Special Secretary of Strategic Affairs of Brazil Admiral Flavio Rocha, and Secretary of Defense Products at Brazil’s Defense Ministry Marcos Degaut.

The talks covered the organization’s vision for deepening domestic industrialization, as well as entrenching and transferring modern digital technologies in various industrial areas, including military and defense industries. A joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed for that purpose.

Meanwhile, Terras said he is looking forward to fostering cooperation with leading Brazilian companies for strengthening and increasing added value in local industry, highlighting the importance of investing in the robust ties between both countries to explore new cooperation prospects in various fields of industry, following state-of-the-art technologies and the standards for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The session of talks also tackled ways to create more opportunities for competition to sell joint production in local, Arab, and African markets.

Terras also discussed with the delegation members the training opportunities available at the AOI, which has modern specialized training programs covering all areas of industry, administration, and ICT.

During an inspection tour of the AOI Products Exhibition, Rocha emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation with the AOI, the leading industrial base in Egypt, and one of the top industrial entities in Africa and the Arab world, applauding the organization’s cutting-edge smart production lines.

Rocha also encouraged major Brazilian companies to invest in Egypt, especially in light of the country’s economic reform policies and new development projects, including the New Administrative Capital.
