CAIRO, Aug 4 — Arab Parliament President Ahmed Al-Jarwan has praised Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador and Peru for their opposing foreign policy towards Israel’s continuing military offensive on Gaza.
In a thank-you letter addressed to the heads of state of these Latin American nations, the speaker of the Arab League-affiliated parliament described their policies as a “position that human history will bear witness to.
“Israel has waged a war on Palestinian children, women and the elderly, and insists on breaching each and every international and human rights law,” he said, commending the decisions taken by the five nations “in the midst of international weakness and collusion to stop these massacres in Gaza.
“The fierce and violent war is being waged on the besieged Palestinian people, who only seek to demand their freedom and the establishment of an independent state as depicted under all international laws.
“We at the Arab Parliament, and on behalf of all Arab nations, value highly your recent policies against Israel, and assure to you the appreciation of the people of the Arab world for your honorable positions which will remain an account of brotherhood and friendship between us,” he said.
