ASTD MENA 2014 to focus on human capital development

The second Middle East and North African ASTD conference will take place in Jeddah from March 9-11.
Described as the premier training and development event for workplace learning and development of professionals, the event is being held at the Hilton Hotel after the “grand success” of last year’s conference.
The ASTD MENA 2014 is themed “Enabling excellence in human capital development,” which is designed to focus on training and development of the workforce as a key driver for performance at organizations of every size and in every industry. Attendees will hear from a vide rage of international speakers and thought leaders and gain insights that will help them create cultures that develop talent, spark innovation, and contribute to growth in their own organizations.
Walid Saad Wakid, vice president of Al-Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), said learning is a key driver for any size organization; ASTD MENA 2014 focuses on issues and solutions related to workplace learning and development of professionals responsible to manage all aspects of learning in their organizations.”
He said: “ASTD MENA 2014 has content that is of interest for CEOs and specialists, from deans to students. ASTD MENA 2014 is an international conference and exposition bringing around 500 companies operating in the region together to share their experience in learning and development; this insight will assist businesses of all size to grow.”
He announced that 28 specialists and experts in training from Saudi Arabia, the United states, Canada, Kuwait, and Malaysia will be speaking during the three-day conference.
The exclusive conference for workplace learning and development of professionals is expected to be attended by 600 from more than 20 countries. These professionals manage all aspects of learning in their organizations.
The 2014 highlighted speakers will be led by ASTD President and CEO Tony Bingham, Jack Phillips, chairman of ROI Institute, trainer Bob Pike, and President and Founder, Infinity Consulting and Training Solution, Sardek Love.
ASTD 2014 will also feature a number of educational sessions and an expo with the latest products and services from more than 500 top suppliers.
This year’s event will be organized by The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and Professionals Institute with the support of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC).
