Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Glenn Miles, on Wednesday highlighted the necessity "to help Lebanon bear the burden" caused by the massive presence of displaced Syrians onto its soil.
The Ambassador visited MP Sami Gemayel at the Kataeb party's central house in Saifi, for talks over the general situation.
Miles indicated that talks touched on the results of the recent Lebanese parliamentary elections, highlighting his country's relief over the calm atmosphere that prevailed during the polls.
He also welcomed the designation of Prime Minister Saad Hariri to form the new government.
Moreover, the diplomat hoped that the sought economic reforms would top the priorities of the next government, in order to benefit from the outcome of the CEDRE conference.
Miles also maintained his country's support for the Lebanese army.
