The Australian television personality and presenter Charlotte Dawson was found dead at her home in Sydney, BBC reported. Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the 47-year-old woman.
New Zealand-born Dawson had a history with depression and was upfront about her issues with mental health.
In late 2012, she was admitted to hospital after being the target of cyber bullying on Twitter.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said he was “shocked” and “saddened” by her death.
Dawson was best known for hosting reality TV show The Contender Australia, and for her role as a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model.
She went on to become an outspoken campaigner against internet trolls. Dawson, who left her native New Zealand at the age of 16 to pursue a modelling career, has been described by her friends as outrageous, outspoken and fragile.
The bullying of Dawson began after she confronted a Melbourne woman about abusive posts directed at her and a Melbourne follower who had lost her partner to suicide.
