Bassil calls on Lebanese expatriates in Dominican Republic to restore their citizenship

Caretaker Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, Gebran Bassil, called Saturday on the Lebanese expatriates residing in the Dominican Republic to restore their Lebanese citizenship.

"We have sprung from our Lebanese identity, and spread out to the Levantine and to the World," said Bassil, addressing a crowd of Lebanese expatriates who gathered at the Lebanese-Syrian-Palestinian Club in a ceremony marking the 73rd Lebanese Independence Day.

Bassil invited Lebanese expatriates to partake in the "Expatriates Resources Conference" to be held upcoming May in Lebanon.

He also urged the expatriate community in the Dominican island to "contribute to the purchase of Lebanese products and investments in Lebanon, which will help the Lebanese to stay in their homeland."
