The Free Patriotic Movement Media Bureau indicated in a statement released on Sunday that "a long meeting took place on Friday night between Hezbollah Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and FPM Chief, Caretaker Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Gebran Bassil, in the presence of Hezbollah's Liaison and Coordination Unit, Wafiq Safa."
The statement disclosed that discussions during the meeting focused on "the domestic and foreign political situations, in addition to evaluating the results of the recent parliamentary elections, taking into account all positive and negative lessons learnt."
The two leaders also broached the issue of the displaced Syrians, as well as fighting corruption and giving top priority to the parliamentary and governmental work in the country.
"It was agreed to set a preliminary plan to combat corruption and adopt a common mechanism afterwards," the statement said.
Finally, Bassil and Nasrallah discussed the necessity of forming a new government in accordance with the Constitutional and Democratic Charter, and in line with the recent parliamentary elections outcome.
