House Speaker Nabih Berri received on Thursday at his Ain El Tineh residence the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, with whom he discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the broad region.
Discussions reportedly centered on Syrian refugees' dossier.
Speaker Berri said that it is in favor of Lebanon and Syria that Syrian refugees return to their country in the nearest possible time.
On the other hand, Berri met this afternoon with former Vice Prime Minister, President of Interpol Foundation, Elias el Murr.
Discussions reportedly touched on the general political situation in the region and the economic dossier.
Earlier, Berri met with a delegation of the Arab Cultural Tribes' Forum in Lebanon, who hailed his national role at the helm of the legislative authority. The Delegation deemed Berri as the national guarantor of the nation's unity.
