Trkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 5,378.88 points on Wednesday, slightly falling by 0.06%, or 3.02 points, from Tuesday’s close. On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed at 5,381.90 points, down 0.19%, and the daily trading volume was 94 billion liras ($4.97 billion). The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.9258 as of 09.58 a.m. local time (0658GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.9427, and a British pound traded for 22.3898 Turkish liras. Brent crude oil was selling for around $83.37 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,817.65.
