Social Affairs Minister Pierre Abou Assi on Monday opened up his tour in the northern Bekaa by visiting the
the 9th Brigade command in Labweh, where he inspected the Brigade's frontline posts in the outskirts of Arsal.
Minister Bou Assi was accompanied by the Lebanese Forces parliamentary candidate in the district of Baalbek-Hermel, Toni Habshi, and LF eastern Bekaa Coordinator, George Matar.
Bou Assi congratulated the army on its day, and stressed rallying around the military institution.
The Minister underlined that the army is solely responsible for Arsal and its security.
He also voiced the LF's support to the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland but against negotiations in this regard with the Syrian regime.
The Minister said he shall visit the areas of Qaa, Ras Baalbek and Jdaidet Al-Fakiha.
