The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc convened in a farewell meeting under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil in Rabieh Tuesday, devoted to evaluating the bloc's performance and accomplishments as the Parliament mandate expires soon.
"Today we held an emotional farewell meeting for the bloc's old configuration, since by next Tuesday, the new Parliament's mandate will have started," Bassil told reporters following the meeting.
"This bloc has never faltered," the Free Patriotic Movement head maintained, adding that nobody is bigger than their party.
Moreover, Bassil stressed that an agreement over the displaced Syrians' return was necessary to secure the success of the next government.
"We pledge to make this issue a top priority in the next government, in addition to the economic situation that requires solutions," he said.
Turning to Palestine, Bassil said: "As the Change and Reform and the Strong Lebanon bloc, we vow to be a spearhead in defending al-Quds."
"We thank our friends but we won't say goodbye, since our path together is still ongoing through other forms of political actions, on top of which the fight against corruption," he concluded.
