Cyprus’ Health Ministry on Friday announced that four deaths and 950 new Covid-19 cases were recorded between March 24-30, while 39 patients are being treated in hospital.

All four deaths concern women, aged 66, 85, 86 and 88 et??. Their cause of death was Covid-19, the Ministry said.

Until March 30, 2023, 1,349 deaths have been reported with the final (underlying) cause of death, being Covid-19, it added.

In total 39 patients with Covid-19 are being treated in hospital, including a person who is intubated in the intensive care unit (ICU). No other patients with Covid-19 are currently being treated in the ICU, according to the data.

A total of 950 new cases were detected among 54,704 tests, with the positivity rate at 1.74%, the Ministry said.

It is noted that, to date, 655,664 cases have been recorded.
